A practical guide to Sevens

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Keep the goal in mind before your next move. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Bring this focus to a round

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.

The goal to keep in mind

A careful first move helps you understand the round. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Keep the goal in mind before your next move.

Follow these playing steps

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Take a moment to check the current turn. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled.

An example before you play

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. The game area remains available above the explanation.

An important reminder

Take a moment to check the current turn. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.
